Teacher Residency Program
Teacher Residents will spend three days a week for the entire academic year in a WCCUSD school, in an experienced mentor teacher's classroom. Throughout the course of the year, Residents will have a gradual release of teaching responsibilities, moving from a collaborative, co-teaching role to the lead teacher role. In the following school year, Residents will be hired as a WCCUSD teacher of record.
Requirements/
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Acceptance or commitment to apply to one of our Teacher Residency Program partner schools (CSUEB
- Education Specialists, Dominican University
- Multiple Subject, Single Subject Credentials)
Commitment to teach in WCCUSD for at least four years
Valid California Driver's License or reliable transportation to travel to school sites within the district
Applicants will also be required to answer several short essay responses. A separate form will be emailed to applicants once the Edjoin application is submitted.
