Instructional Assistant – Severely Handicapped

The Instructional Assistant – Severely Handicapped supports the delivery of specialized instructional and support services to students with severe disabilities under the supervision of a school principal and the direction of a credentialed teacher. This position assists students with individualized education programs (IEPs) that address academic, behavioral, physical, vocational, and self-help skills. The Instructional Assistant works closely with teachers, staff, families, and community partners to promote student growth, independence, safety, and well-being in classroom, school, and community-based settings.

Assignments may occur at district school sites or vocational training locations and may require physical assistance, medical support, and transportation of students.

Completed application letter of intent, resume, 2 letters of reference, LP certification or 48 college credits. Please schedule an appointment with the Personnel Department to complete the Literacy Paraprofessional Exam, or submit college transcripts with your application.
