Substitutes Needed

Overview

Glencoe-Silver Lake School District #2859 is in immediate need for on-call, temporary individuals during the school year who are available to work when school district employees are absent.

Duties may include assisting teachers in the classroom, working with students under a teacher's supervision. Additional duties may include crossing guard duties before or after school, supervising on the playground during recess, and/or lunch room supervision. Current rate of pay is $18.06 per hour.

Preferred Skills of Applicants:

• Ability to follow both oral and written directions/instructions
• The District requires applicants, who receive an offer of employment, to submit to a criminal history background check.
• Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means
• Occasional lifting of 20 to 40 pounds or more may be required.
• A high school diploma/GED for applicant of non certified positions

Applicants must have a current Teaching License or Short Call Substitute Teaching License through the Minnesota Department of Education. Current rate of pay is $160 full day / $80 half day.

Not licensed but interested in becoming a short-call sub? A license application can be completed through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). Short call substitute licenses are valid for three years.
