Requirements / Qualifications

Must provide the following:

Verification of clearance with BCOE Clearinghouse
Substitute 30-Day Permit or other CA teaching credential
Completed EdJoin Application
CBEST verification or equivalent
Verification of TB clearance

If you have not cleared through the BCOE Clearinghouse, you may complete the Substitute Interest form at . Walk-ins are not accepted. We will reach out to you once verification of all required application materials, including the EdJoin application, are received. The Certificated Substitute rate is as follows:
Regular day-to-day subbing: $28.57 hourly (working a full 7-hour day is $199.99) Long-term subbing (21 consecutive work days in the same assignment/classroom): $32.14 hourly (working a full 7-hour day is $224.98). Please note that if you do not meet the 21-consecutive day requirement, pay will revert back to the regular day-to-day subbing rate.

The Gridley Unified School District is seeking certificated substitutes to serve on an as needed basis. Must be registered with the Butte County Office of Education. GUSD is located 30-miles south of Chico and serves approximately 2000 K-12 students on five school campuses.
