Role Description

The English Teacher is a full-time, on-site position based in Jackson, CA. This role is responsible for planning and delivering engaging English instruction aligned with district standards, including reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. Daily tasks include developing lesson plans, teaching classes, assessing student learning, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records. The teacher will create a positive, inclusive classroom environment, differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs, and collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families.

Additional responsibilities may include participating in professional development, contributing to curriculum initiatives, and supporting school activities and programs.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in English Teaching and Education, with the ability to apply best practices in a classroom setting.
  • Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Teaching, including designing standards-based instruction and assessments.
  • Excellent Communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues in a clear and professional manner.
  • Relevant teaching credential or certification in English/Language Arts as required by California regulations.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and commitment to equitable, inclusive instructional practices.
  • Ability to manage classroom environments effectively and use data to inform instruction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and collaborate within a school and district team structure.
