POSITION GOALProvide consistent and high-quality instruction for our students during the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning within a supportive and collaborative school environment. This position is responsible for maintaining a positive and productive learning atmosphere while effectively delivering engaging lessons in accordance with the regular teacher's plans and established school policies.
ESSENTIALDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Classroom Management:
Operate a safe, orderly, and positive classroom environment that fosters respect, responsibility, and active student participation. Implement effective classroom management techniques to maximize instructional time and minimize disruptions. - Instructional Delivery:
Follow the teacher's lesson plans with fidelity, adapting instructional strategies as needed to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Present material clearly and engagingly, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources. - Curriculum Implementation:
Deliver instruction aligned with the school's curriculum and learning objectives for the assigned subject(s) and grade level(s). Ensure that students are actively involved in the learning process and are progressing towards mastery of learning standards. - Assessment and Feedback:
Administer and collect student work, including assignments, quizzes, and tests, as outlined in the teacher's plans. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their learning and growth. Maintain accurate records of student progress. - Communication:
Maintain open and effective communication with school administration, support staff, and the regular classroom teacher (as appropriate) regarding student progress, classroom management, and any relevant issues. Provide updates and documentation as requested. - School Policies and Procedures:
Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. - Professionalism:
Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions with students, parents, colleagues, and the community. Dress and conduct oneself in a manner that reflects positively on the school. - Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with other teachers, counselors, and support staff to address student needs and contribute to a positive school culture. - Supervision:
Supervise students in various settings, including the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, and during extracurricular activities as assigned. - Flexibility and Adaptability:
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to unexpected situations, changes in schedules, or individual student needs. - Technology Integration:
Utilize available technology effectively to enhance instruction, manage student work, and communicate with stakeholders. - Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Pennsylvania Secondary Teaching Certification in subject area of assignment.
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents.
