Physical Education Instructor (Part‑Time) – Oakhurst Community College Center, Madera Community College  position is part‑time, start dates may vary, and is open until filled.

• Maintain professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the teaching of Physical Education.
• Teach courses including aerobics, badminton, basketball, fitness & health, golf, martial arts, racquet ball, tennis, volleyball, weight training, fitness walking, floor exercises, introduction to physical education and yoga.
• Use varied pedagogies and instructional delivery systems, including innovative technology for face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid formats.
• Communicate effectively with students.
• Apply appropriate teaching methods, adhering to curriculum outlines.
• Evaluate student progress through tests, examinations, written assignments, oral responses, etc., in keeping with course objectives.
• Provide course syllabi to students.
• Maintain classroom records per District Policy.
• Submit required grading and evaluation reports promptly.
• Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.

• Master’s degree in physical education, exercise science, education (physical education emphasis), kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education.
• Or bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields plus a master’s in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy.
• Or a valid California Community College Credential.
• Or equivalent education and/or experience (requiring an equivalency).
• Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

• Teaching experience at the secondary or post‑secondary level.
• Experience with a breadth of courses and varied pedagogies.
• Demonstrated teaching ability.
• Related work and professional experience.
• Experience in computer‑assisted instruction and other instructional technologies.
• Effective communication (oral & written) and ability to maintain working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
• Ability to develop curriculum and focus on student learning outcomes to improve student learning.
• Experience working with students from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Recent experience working with African American, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students.
• Willingness to examine and remediate instructional, relational, and classroom practices to better engage and support racially minoritized students.
• Experience addressing equity issues in the classroom.
• Potential to contribute to institutional vitality and growth.
• Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.

Starting rates: $45.49 – $61.78 per lecture hour, $38.67 – $52.55 per lab hour, and $38.30 – $52.05 per non‑instructional hour. Sick leave accrues based on assignment hours.
