Information Systems Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool)
Location: Madera Community College at Oakhurst, Madera Community College, California.
Position OverviewThis part-time faculty position will be responsible for delivering Information Systems coursework to diverse student populations in a DTE-Integrated environment, utilizing a variety of pedagogic methods, and supporting student success. Applicants will be placed in a continuous recruitment pool, and start dates may vary with available opportunities.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned part‑time Information Systems courses.
- Use a range of pedagogies and technology for face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid instruction.
- Communicate effectively with students and faculty.
- Apply curriculum outlines and teaching methods approved by the institution.
- Assess student progress through tests, assignments, and other assessment tools.
- Prepare and provide syllabi to students.
- Maintain classroom records in accordance with district policy.
- Submit grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
- Conduct teaching assignments in various instructional settings and times as needed.
- Fulfill all duties typical of faculty as outlined in Administrative Regulation 7122.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community‑college students.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and at least two years of directly related professional experience; or
- Associate degree and six years of directly related professional experience; or
- A valid California Community College Credential; or
- Equivalent education or experience (requires equivalency).
- Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all responsibilities.
- Recent work with underrepresented student populations and an understanding of historical inequities.
- Willingness to examine and improve instructional practices for student engagement.
- Familiarity with multicultural and cross‑cultural communication.
- Ability to support under‑prepared and high‑need students.
- Experience working collaboratively with faculty and staff to enhance instruction and student success.
- Proficiency with computers and instructional technologies.
- Effective communication skills with students and staff.
- Knowledge of current assessment methods and materials.
- Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
- Placed on step one (1) of the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule upon hire.
- Salary classification determined by education and experience as outlined in the salary classifications.
- Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
