Position: Permanent Substitute Teacher
Location: Cambria

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs seeks a Permanent Substitute Teacher to support K-12 students with autism, emotional/behavioral challenges, and other special needs. You will provide direct instruction, implement IEP goals, follow differentiated lesson plans, and support classroom management across multiple classrooms as needed. Working in small, structured settings, you will collaborate closely with special education teachers, behavior specialists, and related service providers to maintain a safe, therapeutic learning environment.

Ongoing training, coaching, and professional development support your growth in evidence-based special education practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily instruction as a substitute in special education classrooms for K-12 students with special needs
  • Implement lesson plans, IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior support plans with fidelity
  • Support classroom management and maintain a safe, structured, therapeutic learning environment
  • Adapt instructional materials for diverse learning needs and communication levels
  • Collect student data and document progress toward academic and behavioral goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, behavior specialists, and related service providers to support students
  • Communicate professionally with school staff and administrators regarding student needs
  • Participate in trainings, coaching, and professional development on evidence-based practices
  • Assist with supervision during transitions, breaks, arrival, and dismissal
  • Follow school policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for special education settings
