SELECTION PROCESS

  • All application materials must be received by the Priority Screening Date to be considered during the initial screening. Applications received after the priority date may be considered thereafter at the discretion of the College until the position is filled.
  • The initial screening will begin after the priority date, and applicants will be notified of their status, either way, thereafter. Applicants selected for interview will be contacted separately to schedule an interview appointment with the screening committee.
  • Tentative Interview Timeline:
    First-level interviews are slated to be conducted November 20 - December 4 and will take place remotely, via Zoom. Final interviews are slated to be conducted January 12 - February 5 and will be held in person, on our Kentfield campus. Timeline is subject to change.
  • This position performs its duties on both the Kentfield and Indian Valley (Novato) campuses, so if not already residing within the Bay Area, the successful candidate must be willing to relocate. Regrettably, College of Marin is not able to offer reimbursement for travel or relocation at this time.

The Full-Time Librarian supports teaching, learning, and student success through library instruction, research assistance, collection development, and outreach. Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students, the librarian helps foster information literacy, promotes equitable access to resources, and contributes to the development of innovative library services and programs that serve the college community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching students information literacy through course-integrated instruction sessions and at the reference desk
  • Delivering reference instruction to students, faculty, and staff
  • Providing training and instructional support to faculty, staff, and students
  • Maintaining the library's interface with online courses and supporting online learning
  • Participating in collection development for both electronic and print resources
  • Developing, maintaining, and organizing electronic information resources across the Library
  • Ensuring compliance with federal regulations, Title 5 requirements, and College of Marin standards related to access to information

College of Marin is looking for Full-time Faculty who:

  • are committed to maximizing effective uses of technology in their teaching and student support;
  • are willing to work collaboratively;
  • have experience with student learning outcomes assessment.
