THE VACANCY:
Open Until Filled This recruitment is open and promotional, meaning all are welcome to apply and current employees in permanent positions are eligible to receive seniority credit and promotional placement once passing all exams. Assignments average 3.92 hours per day, 5 days per week, 10 months per year. Hours for these positions are between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Under the direction of the Administrative Director II, Early Childhood Education, implement approved academic and enrichment class activities for Extended Day Programs; provide a safe and nurturing environment for student achievement; perform a variety of clerical support duties related to classroom activities; collect, maintain and input attendance data into assigned school program database.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years working with children in an organized setting. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid First Aid certificate required within six months of employment.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Implement approved academic, enrichment and recreational activities for students; provide homework assistance and instructional support to students. Provide a safe and nurturing environment for student achievement. Prepare and organize instructional materials to promote student learning. Collect, maintain and input attendance data into assigned school program database. Monitor students in the classroom and computer lab: supervise students during recess and sports activities;
guide students into safe play activities. Assist students to develop communication skills, enhance character traits and serve as an appropriate language model. Coordinate the distribution of snacks to students. Perform routine first aid and seek assistance for non-routine illnesses or injuries. Prepare, collect and maintain a variety of records, logs, notes and files. Assist in the collection, preparation and maintenance of screening and assessment data.
Communicate with school site staff regarding student participation. Attend meetings sessions with designated staff to discuss issues or concerns. Maintain classroom in as safe, sanitary and orderly condition. Communicate with personnel and parents to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns. Inventory and replenish classroom supplies as needed. Operate a variety of audio-visual, office and instructional equipment; including a computer and assigned software.

Classroom procedures and appropriate student conduct. Basic subjects taught in the district schools, including English, science, history, reading, and math. Requirements of maintaining a classroom in a safe, clean and orderly condition. Goals and objectives of assigned program.
Basic record keeping techniques. Basic instructional methods and techniques. Health and safety regulations. Basic First Aid techniques. Operation of standard office equipment, including a computer and appropriate software. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Nutrition needs for students. ABILITY TO:
Plan develop and implement enrichment activities. Provide instructional support. Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to child care. Monitor and evaluate student progress. Understand and follow oral directions. Communicate effectively with others. Supervise planned educational, enrichment and recreational activities. Maintain accurate records. Operate a variety of audio-visual, office and instructional equipment, a computer and assigned software.
Administer basic first aid as needed. Perform clerical duties related to classroom activities. Monitor and evaluate student progress. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. To perform playground supervision.
