Site Supervisor

Definition

Under the direct supervision of the Area Child Development Specialist (ACDS), the Site Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and support to assigned staff, including conducting performance observations and evaluations to ensure the delivery of high-quality early childhood education. The Site Supervisor regularly conducts classroom observations to strengthen teaching practices and promote developmentally appropriate learning environments for all children. Additionally, the Site Supervisor assists with the supervision of children to ensure safety and compliance at all times.

The Site Supervisor plays a key role in upholding compliance standards, promoting program quality, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. This position is responsible for ensuring adherence to Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations, overseen by the California Department of Education;
Title 22 Community Care Licensing regulations, administered by the California Department of Social Services; and all operational, nutritional, and documentation requirements of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The role also ensures compliance with all relevant local, state, and county fire, building, health, and safety codes required for licensed childcare facilities in Riverside County. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining strict adherence to all Funding Terms and Conditions (FT&C) associated with state and county contracts, grant agreements, and public or private funding sources.

The responsibilities of the Site Supervisor include, but are not limited to the following duties and expectations:

• Ensure the facility is maintained in accordance with daily health and safety standards, meeting all requirements set forth by Title 22 and Title 5 regulations.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained to meet required adult-to-child ratios at all times, supporting continuous supervision of children.
• Ensure the implementation and planning of curriculum that provides developmentally appropriate, individualized activities to support the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth of each child.
• Ensure the daily collection of DRDP anecdotal notes and timely data entry into the Learning Genie platform, including but not limited to observations, documentation of developmental progress, photographs, and communication with families.
• Ensure consistent and effective communication with families and among staff through the Learning Genie platform, promoting strong school-to-home partnerships.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of all agency compliance documentation and reporting, including but not limited to ERS assessments, DRDP results, Summary of Findings, ASQs, Family Language Instruments, and Parent-Teacher Conference documentation.
• Ensure quality interactions between staff and children through regular observation and coaching, in alignment with CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) standards.
• Ensure the maintenance and timely submission of daily, weekly, and monthly records as required by agency and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure the planning, coordination, and documentation of parent education and parent involvement activities to promote family engagement.
• Ensure accurate tracking and monitoring of employee attendance, time-off requests, and schedule adherence to maintain appropriate coverage and compliance with labor and licensing regulations.
• Ensure center staffing schedules are effectively created and adjusted to meet program needs, maintain licensing ratios, and support continuity of care.
