Wind Turbine Technician (On site) – Kumeyaay Wind Farm

In this role you will be responsible for the service and maintenance of Siemens Gamesa G-87 wind turbines at the Kumeyaay Wind Farm located near Boulevard, CA. Though the position has a home wind farm site, it will also be part of a mobile team that supports other sites as needed. You will provide excellent service to customers, analyze and react to people in stressful hazardous situations.

• Contribute to the improvement of new and updated field procedures and standard methodologies.
• Ability to work inside the wind turbine enclosure at an elevated height of 68 meters or 223 feet.
• Ability to think clearly and maintain composure during stressful and hazardous situations.
• Physical requirements:
  
  Ladder climbing (minimum 267 steps), stair climbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, working above shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.
• Capable of efficiently taking on additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm.

• High school diploma or equivalent (required). 2 or more years of experience preferred. A college degree or related competency in electrical/mechanical systems is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment.
• Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less and pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner.
• Strong ability to prioritize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of quality orientation, ability to analyze and resolve problems independently.
• Hands‑on experience working with electrical systems, including PLC programming and converters.
• Experience interacting with customers at various organizational levels.
• Traveling up to 10% as needed; eligible to hold a valid driver’s license.

The base salary range for this position in Boulevard, California is $42,600.00 – $60,800.00. Selected candidates will be eligible to participate in a gain‑sharing program. Compensation depends on experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
