Senior Energy Market Specialist / Power Trading Analyst
Local to Southern California 6 months CWOTH - W2 Only (No Sponsorship/C2C) No CalPERS
Seeking a Senior Power Market Specialist with experience in Power Trading or Origination to support wholesale energy portfolio strategy and market operations in the Western U.S. power markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze power and environmental markets to support trading, hedging, and risk mitigation strategies
- Execute and support transactions involving energy, resource adequacy, renewables, transmission, and related products
- Partner with market operations, scheduling, and analytics teams
- Negotiate and manage energy-related agreements including PPAs and RA contracts
- Monitor CAISO markets, settlements, transmission rights, and market fundamentals
- Support valuation and risk analysis for renewable and battery storage assets
- Build and maintain industry relationships with utilities, IPPs, and counter parties
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in Power Trading, Origination, or Energy Markets
- Strong knowledge of CAISO and Western U.S.
