Location: Trenton
Take your engineering career to new heights with Nova Scotia Power’s Power Engineer position in Trenton, Nova Scotia. This full time role focuses on maximizing operational safety and efficiency in a cooperative workplace. You will be responsible for managing high‑pressure boiler turbine units while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
As part of the Power Production department at the Trenton Generating Station, you will participate in essential training programs and assist with compliance to reliability standards. Your role may also involve temporary assignments and travel within the province.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain all boiler and auxiliary systems
- Participate actively in training and competency programs
- Ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Accept temporary positions as needed
- Support environmental performance initiatives
- 2nd Class Power Engineer certification required, 3 years’ experience
- Color vision suitability for monitoring equipment
- Flexibility in managing tasks and assignments
- Strong interpersonal skills for team engagement
- Apprenticeship opportunities for 3rd Class certificate holders available
