Plant Manager

Calpine Corporation seeks a Plant Manager to lead safe, reliable operation of a natural gas-fired and geothermal power facility. The Plant Manager will direct daily operations, maintenance, and technical teams, ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include optimizing plant performance using data and KPIs, managing budgets and contractors, planning outages, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role collaborates closely with corporate functions to support cleaner energy, grid reliability, and sustainability goals while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the power plant to ensure safe, reliable energy generation
• Manage and develop operations, maintenance, and technical staff
• Oversee compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards
• Optimize plant performance using data, KPIs, and continuous improvement methods
• Manage budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships
• Coordinate outages, maintenance planning, and reliability projects
• Implement and enforce safety programs and procedures
• Report plant performance and risks to senior leadership
• Drive initiatives to improve efficiency, availability, and cost control
• Support corporate sustainability and cleaner energy objectives
