Technical Services Manager - Willows, CA

Build your career at the intersection of Technical Services, Operational Technology (OT), and highspeed automation.

If you are energized by solving complex manufacturing challenges and want a role that can grow into broader plant systems leadership, this is the opportunity. As our Technical Services Manager, you will help lead the reliability, automation, and OT backbone that keeps our operations running safely, efficiently, and cost competitively.

Why this role is a great career step
  • Purpose + Path:
Step into a visible role that partners with Operations, Engineering, IT/OT, and Quality—designed with a clear growth path toward broader technical leadership.
  • Modern Tech:
Apply and expand your skills across PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, industrial networking, robotics, motion control, vision systems, and highspeed packaging/processing lines.
  • Real Impact:
Help us leverage automation and data to reduce downtime, increase throughput, and streamline workflows—directly improving cost competitiveness.
What you will do
  • Help guide Technical Services & OT health:
Lead maintenance engineering, automation support, initiatives, and controls/OT standards across lines and utilities
  • Drive reliability:
Elevate PM, PdM, and condition based programs; lead rootcause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions to improve and OEE.
  • Advance automation through project management:
Scope, commission, and optimize controls upgrades—PLCs, HMIs, variable frequency drives, safety circuits, vision systems, and robotics.
  • Strengthen OT/IT:
Partner with IT on industrial networks (Ether Net/IP, Profinet, VLANs), data flows (SCADA/MES/CMMS), and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Mentor and grow a capable team:
Coach staff/technicians/engineers; help to establish skills matrices, training plans, and clear work standards that raise the bar every quarter.
  • Champion safety & compliance:
Ensure machine guarding, LOTO, and functional safety practices; uphold SQF/GFSI/OSHA/ EPA as applicable.
  • Measure what matters:
Use line diagnostics, historian/MES data, and CI methods (Lean, SMED, TPM, Six Sigma) to target loss drivers and eliminate waste.
What you will bring
  • Education:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Background:
Experience in technical services, maintenance operations, reliability, or controls/OT in highspeed manufacturing.
  • Technical depth:
Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley/Siemens), HMIs, SCADA/MES, industrial networking, sensors, pneumatics, motion, and power transmission.
  • Mindset:
Hands-on, data-driven, and eager to learn—you are comfortable digging into a line issue in the morning and presenting a plantwide reliability plan in the afternoon.
  • Leadership:
Ability to set priorities, develop people, and collaborate across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and IT.
