Overview
Terra Verde Energy is seeking a Project Manager to lead solar, battery storage, EV charging, microgrid, and other C&I-scale energy infrastructure projects across California. In this client-facing role, you will manage projects from contract execution through completion, serving as the owner’s representative and ensuring successful delivery on time and on budget.
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage schedules while tracking critical milestones, and expertise in navigating technical, legal, regulatory, and permitting challenges.
This role requires strong technical fluency in solar and battery storage systems. The ideal candidate is comfortable reviewing design drawings, understanding interconnection requirements, and engaging directly with engineers, utilities, and contractors on technical matters. Engineering experience in commercial-scale energy infrastructure is strongly preferred.

Since 2009, we have supported the successful implementation of over $500 million worth of distributed solar and battery systems for which we provided independent technical and financial feasibility analyses, project development (competitive solicitation) support, project implementation management (overseeing design, interconnection, incentive applications, and construction), and continue to provide ongoing asset management services (performance monitoring, operations & maintenance, revenue program management, detailed energy & financial performance reporting) for a portfolio of over 500 solar and battery systems.

- Own the lifecycle of complex energy infrastructure projects from contract signing through permitting, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Serve as the trusted representative and expert for Terra Verde and its clients.
- Ensure visibility and oversight by reviewing project schedules, milestones, and lookaheads.
- Support RFIs by providing technical guidance and responses.
- Maintain organized and complete project documentation.
- Escalate and resolve issues proactively.
- Lead preliminary design and interconnection review, collaborating with the Senior Electrical Engineer to ensure technical compliance, constructability, and utility requirements are satisfied.
- Travel to project sites and client locations as needed.
- Support contract negotiations and technical scope review.
- Contribute to internal process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, or related engineering field strongly preferred. Candidates without an engineering degree must demonstrate equivalent hands-on technical experience reviewing and overseeing solar and battery system design.
- Minimum of 5 years managing commercial solar and/or battery storage projects.
- Demonstrated ability to review and interpret single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, and interconnection documents.
- Experience engaging directly with utilities (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) on Rule 21 or similar interconnection processes.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Master’s degree in engineering
- PMP, PE, or similar credentials
- Experience working with California public agencies
- Experience managing C&I-scale energy infrastructure projects in California
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical, regulatory, and permitting requirements
- $110,000 – $160,000 annually + performance bonus.
- Commensurate with experience, technical depth, and demonstrated ability to independently manage complex California solar and battery storage projects.
