** Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in thin film coating and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems   Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes  Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications  May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures

* - Thin Film Deposition and Optical Coating process  knowledge

- Project Engineering and Capital Management

- Failure Analysis skills utilizing technologies such as FIB/SEM/XPS

- Intellectual property development

- Cross functional Team Leadership and Mentorship

** Work Schedules:

** Schedule for this Position:
** 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

** Pay Rate:
** The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York  excluding most major metropolitan areas , Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $144,600    $255,070  For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location  Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only  Lockheed Martin considers factors such as  but not limited to  scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer
