OverviewThe Process Engineer will develop and assist in implementing new processes, improve existing operations and manufacturing technologies, support multiple capital projects, and perform engineering analysis and studies. The Engineer will regularly interact with line operators and may lead a task force or project team.
DetailedRoles & Responsibilities
- Develop methods of improving the existing process through automation, process developments and new technologies.
- Work with Control Engineers to optimize Process Controls to fine‑tune process control points to achieve efficiencies and improved quality.
- Assist process superintendents and supervisors to troubleshoot process issues.
- Continuously improve the energy efficiency of the process and refinery.
- Manage process projects and tasks assigned by the process manager.
- Operate within all safety, environmental, food safety and food security procedures.
- Perform lab testing to support improvements.
- Learn the process associated with processing sugar cane.
- Utilize strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Work flexibility to accommodate various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime; weekend shifts may be mandated.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in an industrial facility.
- Experience supervising employees or leading a project with employees in a unionized work environment.
- Experience supporting multiple capital projects.
- Experience developing and assisting in new processes/procedures.
- 4‑year degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical) from an accredited college/university.
