Job Summary
Cal Portland is seeking a summer Environmental Intern for the Environmental Group in Mojave, CA. This internship is ideal for students pursuing Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Compliance, and Permitting/Sustainability.
Compensation$20.50-$27.00/hr DOE
Responsibilities- Assist with cement plant environmental compliance as needed, including preparation of reports required by environmental permits at state, local, or federal agencies, compliance inspections, and related tasks.
- Learn about mining and cement manufacturing processes, process and environmental monitoring equipment, environmental regulations, inspections, and working with contractors.
- Interface with company lobbyists, management, and legislative staff.
- Perform plant tasks as assigned.
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.

- Clean driving record
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Prior experience or internship in the construction or building materials industry.
Conditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidates must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA-regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
