Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Support new product introductions by developing robust manufacturing processes and documentation.
- Evaluate manufacturing workflows and implement process improvements that increase throughput and reduce waste.
- Manage capital equipment projects including specification, procurement, installation, validation, and startup.
- Develop manufacturing standards, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and process documentation.
- Partner with Quality Engineering to resolve production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Monitor key manufacturing KPIs including OEE, scrap, cycle time, labor efficiency, and capacity utilization.
- Collaborate with Operations to support production planning and capacity expansion.
- Ensure compliance with customer, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- 3+ years of leadership or engineering management experience.
- Experience supporting high-volume or high-mix manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience with process development, tooling, automation, and manufacturing equipment.
- Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and team development abilities.
- Experience with in aerospace, defense, medical device, electronics, or precision manufacturing.
- Experience with cable assemblies, connectors, or electromechanical products.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience implementing automation and robotics.
- Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, IPC standards, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems.
- CAD experience using Solid Works or AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), PFMEA, DOE, and APQP.
