Calpine Corporation seeks a Plant Manager to lead safe, reliable operations at a natural gas and geothermal power facility. In this role, you will own day-to-day plant performance, championing a strong safety culture, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship. You will oversee maintenance, outages, and asset reliability, using data-driven metrics to optimize efficiency and availability. The Plant Manager manages budgets and a multidisciplinary team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while supporting Calpine's mission of cleaner energy, grid reliability, and innovation in a dynamic, analytical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of a natural gas and geothermal power plant to ensure safe, reliable generation
  • Drive a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance with all environmental and NERC standards
  • Oversee maintenance planning, outages, and asset reliability programs to maximize plant availability
  • Manage plant budget, cost controls, and performance metrics using data-driven analysis
  • Supervise, coach, and develop multidisciplinary plant staff and contractors
  • Coordinate with trading, market operations, and grid operators to meet dispatch and reliability requirements
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, emissions, and operational excellence
  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and audits for regulatory and corporate requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering and corporate support teams on projects and upgrades
  • Support sustainability and cleaner energy goals through optimized plant performance
