About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Structures Technician to join their aviation maintenance team in Welkom . In this hands‑on role, you will be responsible for the repair, modification, and maintenance of aircraft structural components, ensuring the highest standards of integrity and airworthiness. You will work with a variety of materials and techniques, applying your expertise to keep our client's fleet in optimal condition.
The ideal candidate will have a strong practical background in structural repair and a commitment to safety and quality within the aviation sector.
- Perform structural repairs and modifications on aircraft airframes according to approved data and technical specifications.
- Conduct inspections to identify damage, corrosion, or fatigue in aircraft structures.
- Fabricate and fit structural components, ensuring precise alignment and adherence to tolerances.
- Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment used in structural repair work.
- Document all work performed, including materials used and time spent, in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Proven experience as an aircraft structures technician or similar role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural repair manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Skilled in working with various aircraft materials, including aluminum alloys, composites, and metals.
- Experience with riveting, welding, sheet metal work, and composite repair techniques.
- Strong understanding of aviation safety protocols and quality control procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced hangar environment.
