Supervisor - Slots
The Slot Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of slot machines and the performance of slot floor staff during assigned shifts. This position ensures proper staffing, regulatory compliance, and consistent delivery of 4-Star/4-Diamond guest service while maintaining a visible and supportive leadership presence on the casino floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and supports slot floor team members during assigned shift, ensuring coverage aligns with business needs.
- Responds to guest service requests and machine issues, and ensures timely staff response to service lights, radio calls, and management instructions.
- Maintains strong leadership presence by engaging with guests and staff to reinforce service excellence and team morale.
- Monitors floor operations for irregularities in play and reports any concerns or suspicious behavior to the Slot Shift Manager.
- Promotes compliance with Title 31 and all applicable gaming regulations and internal controls.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with other shifts and casino departments.
- Provides performance feedback and supports team member development in alignment with department goals.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides direct supervision, guidance, and training to Slot Floor staff.
- Participates in recruiting, onboarding, and development of team members.
- Enforces department policies, grooming standards, and guest service expectations.
- Monitors performance, documents evaluations, and administers coaching and discipline as necessary.
- Creates a positive work environment by supporting professional growth and resolving team member concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a high-volume, fast-paced gaming environment.
- Must be knowledgeable in the operation of various types of slot machines, including Class II, Class III, Video Poker, Keno, and Video Lottery Terminals.
- Must demonstrate excellent judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Proficient with PC-based software including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a strong customer service orientation and uphold high ethical standards.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
- Additional training or certification in slot operations or gaming compliance is a plus.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in slot operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong understanding of slot machine operations, guest service protocols, and gaming regulations.
- Proven ability to oversee shift activities, guide team members, and ensure operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Experience handling payouts, machine malfunctions, incident reports, and guest disputes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in a casino or tribal gaming environment is required.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Morongo Gaming Agency, which includes successfully passing a comprehensive background investigation.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate clearly, professionally, and confidently in person and over radio with slot attendants, guests, security, surveillance, and management; responsible for giving direction, resolving issues, and ensuring smooth floor operations.
- Lifting and Carrying: Frequently lifts and transports slot-related supplies, documentation, coin buckets, and minor equipment components weighing up to 30 pounds; may assist with jackpots and machine resets.
- Manual Dexterity: Regularly uses hands and fingers to complete reports, operate handheld devices, handle cash documentation, and interact with slot machine components when clearing errors or assisting guests.
