The Slot Technician II is responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of slot machines, Class II bingo devices, Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs), and related electronic gaming equipment in the Slot Repair Shop and on the casino floor. This intermediate-level role requires a working knowledge of electronics, slot network systems, and machine diagnostics, supporting both operational reliability and guest satisfaction in a regulated gaming environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Troubleshoot and repair slot machines and related gaming equipment to the component level.
- Apply basic electronic theory and diagnostic techniques to evaluate and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, relocation, and removal of slot machines and associated equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on slot signage, stands, and player tracking systems.
- Operate shop tools and equipment, including hand tools, soldering irons, and electronic test devices.
- Maintain accurate documentation including repair logs, shift reports, and lock/key records.
- Ensure the security of all slot equipment, components, records, and assigned tools.
- Understand and support slot network systems; perform basic line repairs and identify communication failures.
- Assist with programming and repair of progressive displays and digital signage.
- Respond to minor tilts, jams, and guest service needs on the casino floor.
- Execute assigned projects including slot moves and custom setups.
- Strictly follow all internal controls and gaming regulations related to slot machine servicing.
- Identify and report safety issues to the Slot Supervisor.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Demonstrated knowledge of Class II and Class III gaming devices.
- Understanding of coin-in systems, player tracking, and data management systems is a plus.
- Strong foundation in electronics theory, with the ability to read schematics and use multi-testers.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other PC-based tools required.
- Familiarity with basic machine shop operations and metal fabrication preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Must maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor required.
- Must uphold a high standard of ethics and integrity in all job functions.
EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's degree in Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications from slot machine manufacturers (e.g., IGT, Aristocrat, Bally, Konami) are a plus.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in slot machine repair, technical support, or related electronic maintenance roles.
- Proficient in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of slot machine malfunctions and component failures.
- Experience with machine installations, conversions, and software updates in a regulated gaming environment.
- Strong knowledge of gaming compliance procedures, TITO systems, and slot accounting interfaces.
- Excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills with a guest-service focus.
- Prior experience in a casino or tribal gaming environment is required.
Must obtain and maintain a valid gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, which includes successfully passing a background investigation.
