Partners with operations teams to reduce costs and improve gross margin. Manages inventory transaction accuracy to minimize inventory write-offs or write-downs. Provides timely cost roll updates and leads the annual standard cost roll with updated rates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Partners with Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement, and Inventory Control teams to drive operational excellence and cost improvement initiatives.
- Manages cost accounting transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal costing policies and procedures.
- Ensures accurate inventory valuation through proper costing methods, detailed analysis, and cycle count oversight.
- Performs financial analysis and provides support to Operations Management to meet cost reduction targets.
- Assists in the preparation of daily and monthly profit and loss statements.
- Reviews and updates standard costs across production areas based on company requirements.
- Prepares and communicates margin analysis and performance reports to Operations Management.
- Assists in preparing costing data to support major business decisions.
- Leads the annual physical inventory count and quarterly cycle count processes.
- Supports the Controller in developing financial forecasts, budgets, and operating plans.
- Assists with the evaluation and implementation of ERP system upgrades.
- Participates in and provides financial support for Theory of Constraints (ToC), Lean, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 2+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise across accounting disciplines, including financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget targets.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
- Experience with manufacturing ERP systems is highly desirable.
