Job Summary
Responsible for originating residential mortgage loans for clients, serving as the primary lending specialist within a financial center. The role delivers First Mortgage and Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) products in person or by telephone, and also provides Auto Loans, Credit Cards and core banking products. The position balances sales performance, operational risk, and client relationship care while ensuring compliance with SAFE Act registration requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver First Mortgage and HELOC lending products in person or by telephone.
- Provide Auto Loans, Credit Cards and Core Banking products to clients.
- Balance sales performance, operational risk, and client relationship care.
- Analyze client financial needs and recommend financial services that align with client priorities.
- Present housing loan product solutions, submit applications, assist clients with loan documentation, and keep clients informed through outbound calls, email and online messaging.
- Maintain outreach and pipeline management activities, conducting consistent follow‑up routines to meet client needs.
- Respond to client requests and make referrals to appropriate internal partners.
- Partner with financial center leaders, performance managers and market leaders to provide guidance and coaching to associates on delivering an exceptional client experience.
- Minimum 2 years of mortgage origination experience or equivalent proven ability to assess client needs.
- Demonstrated consultative sales record and ability to deliver tailored financial solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinker capable of analyzing financial and credit data to advise clients.
- Effective customer service skills with full end‑to‑end client experience management.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong work ethic, performance‑oriented, flexible to work weekends or extended hours as needed.
- Team player and collaborator with strong internal and external relationships.
- Knowledge of banking products and services, FHA, HUD guidelines and mortgage products (Conventional, Jumbo, Government, HELOC).
- Proficiency with MS Office and laptop technology.
- Experience in a financial center where sales goals were met or exceeded.
- Knowledge of complex financial data analysis and alternative solutions.
- Solid time‑management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Experience in loan origination role in a retail environment.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with credit documentation, risk assessment and pipeline management.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Registration with the SAFE Act and maintenance of a clean background check.
- Compliance with all Federal and State regulations governing real estate lending.
