Job Overview
This position will provide personal financial services at assigned military installations.
Responsibilities- Provide personal financial counseling services to service members and families, including one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referral resources.
- Coordinate with installation and military branch points of contact to ensure program scope and needs are met.
- Assist in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
- Develop and make available informational financial materials.
- Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering military lifecycle topics.
- Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication modes (web‑based chat, video) where authorized by OSD FINRED Program office.
- Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to DoD protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision to share trends and issues.
- Participate in in‑service training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree plus 4 years of experience or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3+ years' financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizen, fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
- Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- Must hold one of the following certifications:
Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
