We employ a broad range of qualified applicants with experience for positions at our different locations.
Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified American Indian and Alaska Native candidates in accordance with the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934 (Title 25, USC, Section 472). If you are claiming Indian Preference, you must submit your Tribal documentation with your application.
Education and Experience- Associate's degree equivalent to four (4) years of experience
- Bachelor's degree equivalent to eight (8) years of experience
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree in fire, law enforcement, emergency management, or public administration, or 8 years’ experience in fire, law enforcement, or emergency management.
- 3 years supervisory experience in fire, law enforcement, or emergency management.
- Must be certified in the following Incident Command System ("ICS") courses within first year of hire: 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800.
- Must be able to obtain an NWCG Red Card.
- One or more of the following NWCG positions:
- AIRCRAFT DISPATCHER (ACDP)
- AIR OPERATIONS BRANCH DIRECTOR (AOBD)
- AIR TACTICAL GROUP SUPERVISOR (ATGS)
- DIVISION/GROUP SUPERVISOR (DIVS)
- EXPANDED DISPATCH COORDINATOR (CORD)
- FIRE BEHAVIOR ANALYST (FBAN)
- HELIBASE MANAGER (HEBM)
- HELICOPTER COORDINATOR (HLCO)
- INCIDENT COMMANDER TYPE 3 (ICT3) or higher
- LIAISON OFFICER (LOFR)
- PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER TYPE 3 (PIO3) or higher
- SAFETY OFFICER TYPE 3 (SOF3) or higher
- UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) MANAGER (UASM)
- UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) MODULE LEADER (UASL)
- UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) PILOT (UASP)
- Rx BURN BOSS TYPE 1 (RXB1)
- Any Section Chief
- Must be certified First Aid and in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation ("CPR") within 90 days of date of hire.
- Valid state issued driver’s license and/or the ability to obtain a California or Oregon driver’s license.
- Must be insurable on the Tribe’s insurance policy.
