Location: Beale Air Force Base
Duties
* Performs final clerical review of recommendations for evaluations, awards, medals, decorations, and other actions submitted by units or processed by other clerks.
* Administers/manages evaluations program and serves as the primary source of information for individuals, commanders, and other personnel on and off base regarding evaluations, awards and decorations policies, procedures, and requirements.
* Updates, inquires, and processes actions through Personnel Data System. Responsible for input of data pertaining to evaluations, awards, and decorations.
* Uses a variety of office automation hardware, software, and peripherals in the performance of military personnel functions and performs other clerical support work.
* Performs other duties within the Military Personnel Flight (MPF), as required. Requirements Conditions of employment

* A security clearance may be required

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

* Required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
* Personal data, to which the incumbent has access, are controlled by the Privacy Act of 1974 and must be safeguarded appropriately.
* A signed Mobility Agreement may be required. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative support positions, 0203 series. SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of, and skill in applying, a standardized body of military personnel rules, regulations, procedures, and precedents relating to the military awards and decorations program and resolve complex procedural and substantive problems. Knowledge of the format, content, and uses of the military personnel record.
Knowledge of the organization and its functions and programs to answer inquiries of a general nature or to refer them to the responsible staff member. OR
EDUCATION:
Successful completion of four years of education above the high school level in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a standardized body of military policies and procedures relating to the military evaluation, awards and decorations programs and of the format, content, and uses of the military personnel record and the procedures and requirements regarding its maintenance.
2. Knowledge of military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters.
3. Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures.
