Solano County's Health and Social Services, Older and Disabled Adult Services (ODAS) is hiring for Deputy Public Administrator/Public Guardian/Public Conservator.
It is the mission of Older and Disabled Adult Services (ODAS) to provide access to services and resources that sustain health and well-being, support independent lifestyles and promote physical safety and emotional security for older and disabled adults and children in Solano County.
ODAS provides social services to Solano County residents who are elderly (age 60 and older), disabled adult (age 18 to 59) and minor with disability (age 0 to 17).
ODAS Programs includes:
- Adult Protective Services (APS)
- The Public Guardian's Office (PG)
- In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)
- Public Authority (PA)
- Napa and Solano Area Agency on Aging (AAA)

THE POSITION
As a Solano County Deputy Public Administrator/Public Guardian/Public Conservator, the person in this generalist role supports clients who are conserved under the Lanterman Petris Short (LPS), probate conservatorship and works on settling decedent estates. This position requires social and fiscal case management for conserved clients which includes making decisions on behalf of clients; investigation of new referred clients; and collection, inventory and disposition of estate assets.
Incumbents in this class perform case management, estate management, technical paralegal duties and related duties as assigned involving conservatorship and/or decedent estates placed under the jurisdiction of the Public Administrator/Public Guardian/Public Conservators Office. The incumbent follows general guidelines and procedures, applies provisions of applicable laws in providing client and estate management services fulfilling the role of a Deputy Public Administrator/Public Guardian/Public Conservator.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to demonstrate care and compassion for clients; appreciate the limitations of clients who are deemed gravely disabled; work as an effective team member to collaborate and advocate on behalf of conserved clients, be attentive to details and provide clear documentation on all case management activities; follow the legal requirements of practice in this role and abide by court orders;
and prioritize competing priorities on a daily basis. The ideal candidate's employment history may include case management of older and disabled adults and working on multi-disciplinary teams.
The eligible list created as a result of this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur throughout the County.
