Job Title
Oversee clinical and casework services performed by the multi-disciplinary case management team. Primary clinical advisor to the Program Manager for the assigned unit.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervises the designated licensed and/or registered therapists, case workers and other clinical staff.
- Implements and communicates clinical employee performance standards in accordance with the organization policy and procedures and DMC-ODS Waiver, Title XXII and CARF standards
- Ensures that the program approach is trauma-informed and strength-based by monitoring and participating in activities and by maintaining emotional and physical safety of the staff and clients.
Meets regularly with multi-disciplinary case management team to review services provided to clients, ensuring the quality of care and adherence to VOALA procedures and State policy and regulations.
Reviews case records for accuracy, consistency, and conformity with laws, regulations and policies and for quality of clinical case management and application of proper clinical case management techniques.
Create and work within a team environment to ensure all Program staff are knowledgeable and familiar with contract expectations, case management and supervisorial expectations and ensure all staff are delivering high quality care.
Conducts unit staff meetings to interpret and discuss new policies, procedures and regulations, and to discuss need for improvement of clinical case management techniques.
Participates in and conducts in-service training programs and staff development activities.
Provide quality assurance of documentation and ensuring that case managers' monthly contacts assist the agency with meeting its billing goals.
Co-sign all notes of non-clinical/non licensed employees within the relevant database system or other internal noting system.
Other tasks as may be assigned by the Program Manager.
Essential Ability AcknowledgementAbility to work and deal with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves the neediest of the needy in our programs, which may include clients with homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, recently released from incarceration, and other challenges.
Essential Duties- Services for this position must be provided on-site. As a result, the positions supervised by this job description are on-site, and supervisors / managers / leaders must be on site to provide proper direction and oversight.
- Oversee clinical case management services, ensure adherence to VOALA, State and Program policy, regulations and law
- Reviews case records, ensures accuracy and compliance with VOALA and ODR policy, regulations and law
- Builds case management team, and supporting staff to ensure high quality care
- Conducts regular staff meetings to discuss and implement best practices
- Conducts in-service training of staff, clinical and non-clinical
- Other duties as required and may be subject to change
As service providers to the underprivileged and vulnerable in our community, all employees are considered Mandated Reporters, and must report any instance of physical or sexual abuse to proper authorities.
QualificationsRequirements:
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
- Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves the neediest of the needy in our programs which may include clients with homelessness, mental-illness, substance abuse, recently released from incarceration and other challenges.
Education:
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling from fully-accredited college or university.
- Licensed by the state of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Psychologist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC)
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of complex clinical experience in program(s) serving homelessness, addictions, under-served populations or prison re-entry/diversion
