Requirements:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent preferred
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred
• Six months of operating room experience or completed Scrub Tech course required
• Surgery Technician certification preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room.
• Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field, and collecting and checking required supplies and equipment prior to each case.
• Set up operative instrumentation and ensure the sterile field is maintained throughout the procedure.
• Perform instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Transport patients as needed according to unit schedules and priorities.
• Perform housekeeping duties as requested and maintain organization within the surgical area.
