The job of Special Ed Para educator
- Behavior Management is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program under the general supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and/or School Psychologist, supporting the coordination of a school behavior program designed to support students (in general and special education) who exhibit the most challenging behaviors to develop pre-social behaviors and coping skills; serving as a coach to school personnel regarding behavioral interventions;

assisting in the development and implementation of behavioral intervention plans/services for eligible students; collaborating with school-site leadership to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and making needed adjustments.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical examination and be free of communicable diseases.
• Must meet district and state standards for physical and mental health.
• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Certification for Registered Behavior Technician.
• Able to pass District Proficiency Examination.
• Ongoing training to maintain RBT certification.
• General clerical experience and knowledge of office machines is desirable.
• Experience and work involving the supervision of students is desirable.
• Valid California driver's license. Proof of auto insurance.
• Will be required to maintain District's current crisis intervention/ behavior emergency response certification.
• May be required to obtain a valid Red Cross First Aid and/or CPR certificate.
• May be required to attend specialized training.
