POSITION SUMMARY
Provides technical, supportive care and services to patients according to the instructions of the treating Physician and the Clinic’s policies and procedures.
The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the mission, purpose, and values of the Colusa Indian Community Council.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES- Experience:
Six (6) months of experience working in similar setting; - Licensing:
- Medical Assistant certification from an accredited school;
- Current CPR/First Aid Certificate
None
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES- Bi-lingual preferred;
- Works a flexible schedule and be willing to work additional hours if needed for the provision of quality patient care;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment & able to multi-task;
- Flexibility and ability to assist others when needed;
- Must have good interpersonal skills with a large range of personality types;
- Must be extensively computer literate and have a broad-based knowledge of computer programs and software;
- Strong attention to detail and note taking skills;
- Is tactful, poised, pleasant and diplomatic, exhibiting a positive, professional demeanor to peers, patients, physicians and visitors. Promotes team image;
- Demonstrates cooperation and consideration of other health team members and peers;
- Must be organized, flexible and versatile with the ability to function effectively in stressful situations;
- Must be eager and enthusiastic in promoting the general philosophy of the facility;
- Dedicated hard worker with ability to report to work on a daily basis.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a computer and/or telephone;
- Ability to assist patients weighing up to two-hundred (200) pounds with getting up and down from exam tables;
- Able to walk and stand at least 50% of the shift;
- Good manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity;

- Work is performed in an office setting which is well-lit, ventilated, and temperature controlled. The noise level is usually low to moderate.
- The incumbent routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
