Job Summary
Facilitates physicians' performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment. Ensures quality patient care during surgery, monitors the sterile field, and prepares the operating room for procedures. Verifies surgical consent, assists with instrument passing, and anticipates surgeon’s needs. Prepares sterile setups, manages instrument sterilization, and aids in room turnover. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills- Associate Degree or Surgical Technology Certificate (required)
- Relevant acute care experience (preferred)
- Certified by the National Board or Association of Surgical Technologists (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Verify surgery details and bring patient to OR
- Assist in instrument handling, supplies, and equipment setup
- Maintain sterile environment and perform instrument counts
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, assist with cleaning and room turnover
- Perform job-related duties as needed
