Tech MLT​/Medical Technologist​/Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Summary:

Performs specimen collection, processing, and handling in the laboratory setting to support accurate diagnostic testing. Ensures specimen integrity and compliance with safety and regulatory standards while supporting clinical workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Collect blood specimens from patients using age-specific techniques and handle specimens safely for laboratory testing.
• Receive, assess, and process incoming specimens, ensuring they meet quality and acceptance criteria.
• Complete computerized tasks including patient registration, test order entry, and labeling within the laboratory information system.
• Operate basic pre-analytic laboratory equipment, maintaining functional and safety standards.
• Document work activities, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and monitor pending tasks.
• Escalate any specimen or workflow issues to licensed or certified personnel according to protocol.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPTI) license in CA, with preferred certifications in OR and HI.
• Have a minimum of two years of recent experience in a clinical lab or acute care environment.
• Hold a current BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider.
• Demonstrate proficiency in EPIC or similar electronic health record systems.
• Have at least five years of relevant professional experience and a current nursing license per state requirements.
• Meet all licensure and certification requirements specific to the role’s location.
