Senior Patient Services Specialist at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, CA. This position is Full Time and will work 8-hour, Day shifts.

Under supervision this position is accountable for scheduling various types of patient appointments from simple office visits to complex procedures, securing appropriate patient account reimbursement by obtaining complex demographic, insurance, and medical information, identifying services requiring authorization for treatment and referral information. This may include coordinating schedules with multiple providers and other specialized resources. Complexity of this position is evidenced by the use of simple and complex medical terminology and enterprise scheduling protocols.
The scheduler/registrar/insurance verifier displays professional interpersonal skills and presence when communicating with physicians, staff and the public; as the front-line customer service representative, upholds and exhibits the core values in all communication. It is essential that this information be documented timely and accurately.

Required Qualifications:- California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization within 30 days of hire
- 1 year of experience in customer service or healthcare registration.
- Demonstrated outstanding customer service experience.
- Clerical and computer experience.
- Experience with State, Federal and other regulatory Compliance Regulations, including Medicare Secondary Payer, EMTALA, and ABN.
- A track record in organizing and planning.
- Coursework/Training:
Some college level coursework, particularly Medical Terminology or Medical Assistance coursework. - Upon hire:
Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) - Registrar, scheduler and third-party payor experience.
- Healthcare experience in a hospital or clinical setting, health insurance or medical office.
