INTRODUCTION:
Central Neighborhood Health Foundation is a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC) committed to the Triple Aim as described by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Improving the US health care system requires simultaneous pursuit of three aims:
1) improving the experience of care,
2) improving the health of populations, and
3) reducing per capita costs of health care. Preconditions for this include the enrollment of an identified population, a commitment to universality for its members, and the existence of an organization (an "integrator") that accepts responsibility for all three aims for that population.
The Spiritual Coordinator provides spiritual care support to staff and assists in implementing the
spiritual care initiatives established by the Spiritual Director. This role focuses on discipling
staff, coordinating spiritual care activities, leading prayer opportunities, and fostering a
spiritually supportive workplace culture across clinic sites.
The Spiritual Coordinator regularly visits clinics, participates in clinic huddles, meets
individually with staff for prayer and spiritual encouragement, and assists with spiritual
communications, referrals, and program support. This position serves as a key liaison between
staff and the Spiritual Director and helps ensure spiritual care services are accessible, consistent,
and aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provide spiritual encouragement, support, and prayer to staff in individual and group settings.
- Meet one-on-one with staff for spiritual guidance, encouragement, discipling, and prayer as requested or referred.
- Foster a supportive and faith-centered environment that promotes emotional and spiritual well-being.
- Provide spiritual support to staff experiencing stress, grief, burnout, or personal challenges.
- Provide spiritual support to patients experiencing illness, stress, grief or personal challenges.
- Support the Spiritual Director in discipling staff and fostering spiritual growth within the organization.
- Assist in developing and facilitating spiritual growth opportunities, including devotionals, prayer meetings, and spiritual encouragement initiatives.
- Encourage participation in spiritual care programs and initiatives.
- Coordinate, organize, and lead prayer meetings, devotionals, and spiritual gatherings for staff.
- Participate in clinic huddles to offer prayer, encouragement, and spiritual support.
- Assist with organizing spiritual events, retreats, and special spiritual care programs.
- Regularly visit clinic sites to provide spiritual presence, encouragement, and accessibility to staff.
- Participate in clinic huddles and meetings to support staff through prayer and spiritual encouragement.
- Build relationships with staff across all departments and clinic locations.
- Draft and distribute spiritual encouragement communications, including emails, devotionals, announcements, and spiritual care updates.
- Assist in coordinating spiritual care services, scheduling meetings, and organizing spiritual initiatives.
- Support the Spiritual Director with administrative and program coordination tasks.
- Follow up with patients referred for prayer and document accordingly.
- Identify staff in need of additional support and refer to the Spiritual Director, Behavioral Health, Human Resources, or appropriate resources as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership, Human Resources, and clinic management to support staff wellness initiatives.
- Assist with documenting spiritual care encounters as appropriate and in accordance with organizational policies.
- Function as an administrative assistant for the Spiritual Director.
- Assist in implementing spiritual care programs and initiatives established by the Spiritual Director.
- Maintain records of spiritual care activities and participation, as appropriate.
- Attend staff meetings, spiritual care meetings, and organizational meetings as required.
- Travel between clinic sites as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
