Medical Assistant – Podiatry

• Work with providers and staff to ensure effective medical care is delivered to all patients.
• Prepare patients for their examination/visit and assist the providers as needed.
• Complete medication refills, lab result follow ups, referrals to specialists, patient callbacks.
• Order medical supplies, and clean/sterilize medical equipment and exam rooms.
• Float to other clinics when needed and perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals.

• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Medical Assistant (MA) certification from the California Certified Medical Assistant Board (CCMA) or the National American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required or an approved certifying body required.
• Previous experience with injections, EKG’s, medication administration and/or taking vital signs required.
• Basic computer/data entry and electronic medical record (EMR) experience required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, patient/family health education required.

Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, including medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and effective communication with healthcare providers. Holds essential certifications and possesses knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records.
