Kaiser Permanente is seeking experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientists to support laboratory operations at Harbor City Medical Center. This role involves performing complex laboratory testing, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results, maintaining quality standards, and supporting patient care in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

+ Perform complex automated and manual laboratory testing

+ Analyze, verify, and report patient test results accurately and timely

+ Perform quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing activities

+ Troubleshoot instrumentation, testing methodologies, and technical issues

+ Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment

+ Ensure compliance with regulatory and laboratory standards

+ Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and laboratory staff

+ Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records

+ Support continuous improvement initiatives and daily laboratory operations

Required Skills

+ Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License

+ Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field

+ Current BLS Certification

+ Experience performing laboratory testing in at least two of the following areas:

+ Chemistry (Abbott Alinity)

+ Hematology (Sysmex XN-3100)

+ Coagulation (Stago STA-R MAX)

+ Urinalysis (Sysmex UN Series)

+ Blood Bank (Ortho Vision SWIFT)

+ Strong knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance

+ Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and resolve technical issues independently

+ Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

+ Reliable attendance and flexibility to support departmental scheduling needs

Schedule & Pay

+ Pay: $55.00-$68.00/hr

+ Must be flexible to work any 7 days of the week, including rotating weekends

+ Available shifts:

+ 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

+ 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

+ 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

+ Schedule generally becomes more consistent after onboarding

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $68.00/hr.
