Mental Health Worker - Tarzana
Montare Behavioral Health is currently looking for Mental Health Workers for our Mental Health Residential Treatment Centers in the Tarzana area!
This position is responsible for providing direct service to clients, and for facilitating the smooth day-to-day operation of the program. This position collaborates as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team to deliver effective treatment and care.
AVAILABILITY:
We are currently looking for the following:
- Friday-Monday Swing Shift (3pm-11:30pm)
- Friday-Monday NOC Shift (11pm-7:30am)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with intakes and orient clients to the facility
- Conduct and document rounds at their scheduled frequency to ensure the location and well-being of each client.
- Observe clients self-administration of medication and document appropriately.
- Build rapport and provide support to clients while maintaining appropriate boundaries at all times.
- Transport and attend offsite activities with clients such as meetings, appointments and therapeutic outings.
- Ensure clients attend all scheduled groups and therapy sessions.
- Prepare and facilitate groups as assigned and lead clients in organized activities.
- Review treatment plan goals with clients regularly and support clients in accessing community resources.
- Provide effective crisis intervention as needed and teach independent living skills effectively.
- Complete all charts, program documentation, medication management, shift/crossover reports, incident reports and other forms and reports according to company policies.
- Document and communicate to the treatment team any pertinent observations and interactions with clients.
- Ensure the facility is clean, safe and in compliance at all times.
- Attend in-service trainings and all-staff meetings to complete 20 hours of continuing education per year.
- Other duties as assigned by the leadership team.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School graduate or possess a GED. Coursework in counseling, psychology, or social work preferred.
- Experience working with mental health clients in a treatment setting preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player. Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record and personal automobile insurance.
