• Prepare tissue sections for microscopic examination using embedding, microtomy, staining (including special stains and immunostains), cover slipping, and labeling
• Process gynecological, non-gynecological, and bone marrow specimens according to specifications; ensure high diagnostic quality
• Operate and troubleshoot precision histology equipment; prepare/maintain reagents and solutions; monitor temperatures and replenish supplies
• Prepare slides for Pathologist review; deliver slides and related findings to the Pathologist; record and report results accurately
• Maintain quality control checks, validate controls for special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC), and document results
• Maintain clean, organized instruments and work areas; manage departmental workflow to support efficient operations

• Education:
  
  Bachelor's Degree in cytotechnology or equivalent;
  Master's Degree preferred
• Certifications:
  
  ASCP Histology Technician certification preferred
• Licenses:
  License preferred but not mandatory
• Experience:
  
  At least two years of recent histology experience; microtomy, embedding, special stains, and IHC experience
• Credentials:
  Current BLS certification; current nursing license per the state of assignment
• Additional:
  Ability to work in a night shift, high-volume histology setting; strong attention to detail and quality control
