Program Director

In addition to operating contracted facilities, the organization provides community-based care through mental health rehabilitation centers, focused on improving outcomes and supporting long-term recovery.

Role Description The Program Director is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in San Andreas, CA, responsible for overseeing the daily operations and clinical programming of a behavioral health facility. This position leads multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care, regulatory compliance, and adherence to organizational policies and standards. The Program Director develops, implements, and evaluates treatment programs, monitors performance metrics, and drives continuous improvement in patient safety, outcomes, and satisfaction.

Typical responsibilities include staffing oversight, budgeting and resource management, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and participation in community and partner agency initiatives. The role also involves coaching and mentoring team members, supporting professional development, and fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and ethical practice.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including team supervision, performance evaluation, and program oversight.
• Strong clinical and behavioral health knowledge, preferably in inpatient, residential, or community-based mental health and substance use services.
• Experience with regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and risk management in healthcare or behavioral health settings.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills for working with diverse staff, patients, families, and partner agencies.
• Ability to analyze data, manage budgets, allocate resources, and make informed decisions that support operational efficiency and quality care.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and basic office software; familiarity with utilization management processes is beneficial.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Healthcare Administration) preferred; bachelor’s degree with significant related experience may be considered.
• Relevant professional licensure or eligibility (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) in California is highly desirable.
• Prior experience working with civil, forensic, or other specialized behavioral health populations is an advantage.
