Position SummaryAs a Lead Direct Service Professional (DSP) II, you’ll be an active part of our residential crisis programs supporting. Your responsibilities include:
Program & Administrative Support- Serve as Acting Administrator in the Administrator’s absence.
- Support the Administrator with the day-to-day operation of the Community Crisis Home and ensure the program is implemented as designed.
- Assist with new client assessments and participate in individual assessments, IPP/ISP meetings, and other planning meetings as requested.
- Prepare documentation and materials for weekly meetings, monthly meetings, IBSTs, and other program meetings.
- Provide input regarding individuals’ progress, needs, skills, and goals, including information for ISP reports and behavior plans.
- Assist with the development and implementation of behavior plans and follow established activity schedules.
- Direct and coordinate the work of staff, as applicable, and ensure residents are appropriately supervised at all times.
- Ensure individuals receive the appropriate level of care, supervision, and support based on their individual needs and plans.
- Follow each individual’s IPP and support their rights, choices, independence, and informed decision-making.
- Communicate respectfully with individuals and provide information regarding schedules, expectations, activities, finances, upcoming events, and other matters affecting their daily lives.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including transfers, mobility, bathing, toileting, transportation, and community activities.
- Safely utilize mobility, adaptive, and medical equipment as directed.
- Attend medical appointments as needed and accurately communicate relevant information and outcomes.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of individuals and employees.
- Assist with prescribed medications and medical treatments as authorized and directed, including oral medications, nebulizers, blood pressure monitoring, glucose monitoring, and other medical equipment.
- Accurately complete Medication Assistance Records (MARs) and required medical documentation.
- Follow health, emergency, fire safety, and universal precaution procedures.
- Administer CPR and/or First Aid when needed.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and other urgent situations, including contacting 911, medical providers, supervisors, or other appropriate parties.
- Provide intervention and support during crisis situations using CPI and Ukeru principles and other approved interventions.
- Follow individual behavior plans and established crisis protocols.
- Identify, document, and report special incidents, behavioral concerns, injuries, threats, and other significant events in a timely manner.
- Identify and report suspected abuse, including fulfilling all mandated reporting requirements to the appropriate licensing agencies.
- Support a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals and staff.
