Clinical Supervisor

Safe Place for Youth (SPY) is the leading service provider for youth experiencing or at-risk of homelessness in West Los Angeles. Founded in 2011, our agency offers trauma-informed, low barrier programs that support young people in exiting the streets and achieving stability. Our robust continuum of care includes street outreach, drop-in services, health and wellness programming, case management, education and employment services, and housing programs.

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing direct counseling with youth, as well as overseeing and developing SPY clinical programs, including health and wellness therapy, substance use counseling, pregnant and parenting services, peer support, healing arts, and case management. The Clinical Supervisor ensures contract compliance, measures and reports grant outcomes, manages program budgets, provides high quality clinical supervision and consultation, and manages team performance.

Oversee, grow, and develop sustainable high quality clinical programming in alignment with SPY's strategic plan and in collaboration with SPY leadership team.

Provide group and individual clinical supervision for staff and clinical interns.

Provide onsite supervision to clinical team members, as well as agency-wide clinical consultation.

Provide regularly scheduled clinical supervision groups with SPY's drop-in center and housing site teams utilizing ethical/legal and HIPAA standards of practice.

Provide coaching on best practices and co-sign clinical documentation.

Manage SPY's Clinical Internship program.

Lead performance management for all team members including ongoing timely feedback, coaching, disciplinary processes, and assurance that department goals and deadlines are met, per SPY and graduate program timelines.

Provide trauma-informed strengths-based supervision and professional development for supervises.

Contribute to the financial management of the department, including managing expenses in alignment with programmatic budgets.

Provide mediation and crisis intervention to youth.

Participate in on-call clinician rotation during drop-in hours.

Oversee Community Care Accountability and Repair (CCAR) processes.

Provide individual therapy to transitional age youth utilizing trauma-informed and culturally sensitive models of care.

Develop and manage community partnerships to ensure member access to comprehensive behavioral health, medical, and parenting resources.

Provide written and verbal reports of how the program is functioning; represent Safe Place for Youth locally and nationally, as needed.

Complete and submit all required documentation, forms, and statistical reports within designated timelines.

Serve in leadership team rotation to facilitate pre-brief and debrief meetings and opening and closing of the drop-in center.

Conduct departmental and agency-wide training and presentations as needed.

Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization.

Requirements

Education & Licensure:
Master's degree in Social Work and current valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California required

3+ years experience providing direct clinical services, including therapy and advocacy, with advanced skills in rapport building.

Strong clinical and leadership skills.

Supervisory experience.

Advanced knowledge of trauma-informed and harm reduction service models.

Knowledge of resources for youth experiencing and/or at-risk of experiencing homelessness.

Commitment to restorative justice, anti-racist, and inclusive practices.

A self-starter who is prepared to drive innovative solutions for an emerging organization and an openness to learning.

Advanced verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identities in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary environment.

Ability to effectively manage and support both clinical and nonclinical positions.

Ability to foster a culture of learning when providing clinical guidance and crisis management.

Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

An ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
