Position Purpose
Record, process, and analyze the days closing figures. Complete all required reports and ensure the days credit transactions are all in balance. Attend to guests needs, including registration, checkout, cashiering, and making guest wake up calls.
Essential Responsibilities- Acts as the MOD during the night-time hours.
- Greets and welcomes guests upon arrival. Performs guest registration and check out procedures.
- Accepts payment for guests accounts both at the time of registration and at checkout.
- Maintains a house bank and makes a deposit and accurate reports of receipts daily.
- Cash checks and exchanges currency for guests.
- Accurately handles cash transactions and balances a cash drawer to the given amount.
- Acknowledges rewards members and returning guests.
- Takes and manages guest bookings, upsells opportunities and informs them about ways to improve their stay.
- Handles cash and credit transactions.
- Handles all guest inquiries and requests courteously and professionally.
- Performs all audit procedures daily as set forth by the hotel and company.
- Completes Daily Report, Comp Reports including F&B as well as Rooms, Pace Reports, and any other reporting that is assigned.
- Balances all cash receipts and work performed during the audit shift. Makes deposits of cash.
- Prepares the front office for the AM Shift and resets days business.
- Maintains all nightly reports to inform day hotel management of overnight activities/incidents.
- Acts as PBX operator during the audit shift.
- Transmits and receives messages using equipment such as telephone, fax, and switchboard.
- Ensures all wake up calls are made in a timely fashion, properly using guest names.
- Assists or directs hotel guests and/or emergency personnel in case of an emergency.
- Posts charges such as room, food, liquor, or telephone by hand or machine.
- Makes restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations for guests.
- Reviews current days arrival reports. Checks all special request reservations to ensure that the room is blocked per request, VIPs identified, billing is set up correctly, deposits are taken, and other departments are notified of room assignment.
- Attends all scheduled training, departmental and hotel meetings.
- Ensures awareness of special promotions, daily activities, arriving VIPs, Group/Conferences in house, special requests, and scheduled shuttles.
- Practices safe work habits and ensures safe work practices to avoid injury to self and others.
- Ensures all privacy and security protocols are followed as well as departmental and company procedures.
- Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies, services, registration, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
- Maintains an extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and facilities. Along with a general knowledge of the city where the hotel is located and its attractions.
- Maintains lobby cleanliness and organization.
- Assists in booking reservations.
- Assists with handling mail, packages, facsimiles, and guest items.
- All other duties assigned by manager or supervisor.
- Assist with any guest inquiry.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
- Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by direct and indirect supervisors.
- Environment:
Inside, moderate temperature. - Must be able to stand and exude well‑paced mobility for up to four (4) hours.
- Must be able to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
- Must be able to maneuver in limited space and reach other departments in a timely manner.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally.
- Must have finger dexterity to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10‑key adding machine, multi‑line touch–tone phone, filing cabinets, fax machine, photocopier, dolly.
