Position: Housekeeper at Desolation Hotel Hope Valley
Location: Markleeville

Desolation Hotel in Hope Valley, Markleeville, CA, is looking for housekeepers to join our team.

We have full time positions available, working 4 or 5 days a week.

Wage: $19-$21 / hour - wage based on experience.

Great pay plus full benefits.

Desolation Hotel is now under new management, as of October 2025.

Our resort property features cabin accommodations and Sorensen's Cafe. Our Campground property, next door, features our luxury yurt accommodations and Hope Valley Bar & Grill.

Our incredible Housekeeping team attends to the cabins and the yurts, as well as manages laundry services for both properties.

Hotel Housekeeper

Job Responsibilities

Performs cleaning duties in all guest accommodations and some designated common spaces. Work is performed independently and as a team.

Consistently offers professional, friendly, and engaging service

Ensures housekeeping departmental standards are followed

Maintains inventory of necessary cleaning supplies

Reports necessary maintenance items

Takes pride in following all safety and sanitation policies

Laundry assistance may be asked of any team member, but is not a typical part of the housekeeper role

May interact and coordinate with front desk team members for daily or special tasks

Reports to Housekeeping Supervisors and Hotel Management Team

Hotel Housekeeper Qualifications / Skills

Reliable and on time for all scheduled shifts

Is honest and operates with high integrity

Has a positive attitude and is a problem solver

Works well in a team environment

Housekeeping or cleaning experience a plus, but not required.

Can lift and carry up to 30 pounds

Can comfortably walk the resort property with necessary tools and equipment
