We are looking for an Estate Manager to join our family of Sonoma and Napa County wineries!

Position Summary

The Estate Manager at an Adair Family Wines estate is responsible for leading all front‑of‑house guest experiences and hospitality operations across the estate. This includes managing the tasting room, events, wine club integration, and daily guest services, while aligning closely with vineyard, winemaking, and marketing teams. The Estate Manager plays a critical role in embodying and executing all Adair Family Wines brands, ensuring exceptional service, operational excellence, and revenue growth.

This strategic, hands‑on leader will cultivate a welcoming environment, lead a high‑performing team, and oversee all aspects of the estate’s guest‑facing services to deliver elevated and memorable experiences for guests, members, trade, and VIP clientele.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Hospitality

  • Oversee all guest‑facing experiences including the tasting room, tours, and on‑site events.
  • Ensure hospitality standards reflect the winery's brand and deliver a premium, personalized guest experience.
  • Manage VIP, media, and trade visits with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Continuously refine hospitality protocols to improve customer satisfaction and engagement.

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily tasting room operations including opening, closing, staff scheduling, wine and merchandise inventory, and POS reconciliation.
  • Ensure facilities are clean, functional, and aligned with the estate’s visual and experiential standards.
  • Implement SOPs to ensure service consistency, efficiency, and safety across all operations.
  • Partner with vineyard and winemaking teams to stay informed on production and ensure consistent brand storytelling.

Sales, Wine Club, & Marketing Support

  • Drive daily and seasonal sales through tastings, direct‑to‑consumer purchases, and wine club sign‑ups.
  • Collaborate with wine club and marketing teams to support member engagement, events, and promotions.
  • Identify growth opportunities through guest feedback, seasonal campaigns, and brand aligned experiences.
  • Analyze sales and performance metrics to inform improvements and meet/exceed revenue goals.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of hospitality associates and front‑of‑house staff.
  • Lead regular performance evaluations and implement ongoing training in service, wine education, and sales.
  • Foster a team culture centered on accountability, professionalism, and guest‑focused hospitality.

Events & Private Experiences

  • Plan and oversee private tastings, on‑site events, and brand activations.
  • Ensure smooth coordination and execution of events in collaboration with the marketing and events team.
  • Maintain a strong presence during events to ensure guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Partner with the Compliance, HR, and Safety teams to ensure all operations align with local, state, and federal regulations related to alcohol service, labor, and workplace safety.
  • Support the maintenance of necessary permits, licenses, training certifications, and documentation in coordination with internal regulatory and administrative teams.
  • Assist in implementing safety protocols and ensure hospitality staff are trained and adhering to company‑wide health and safety policies.
  • Act as a liaison between the estate’s guest‑facing operations and internal compliance functions, helping to promote a culture of accountability and safety.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Viticulture, Enology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hospitality or winery estate management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of wine, viticulture, and winemaking processes (WSET, CMS certification a plus).
  • Proven leadership ability in managing hospitality teams and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and inventory control.
  • Proficient in POS systems, CRM/reservation tools (e.g., TOCK), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
